DAY 1 - ARRIVE MUMBAI

  • Later visit impressive Mumbai VT (CSTM) station building (a World Heritage Site) and tiffin box guys, open air laundry, Marine Drive (Victoria’s Necklace), Gateway Of India – Built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary for the Delhi Durbar in the year 1911 and Sasson dock & Hanging garden

DAY 3 - MUMBAI – AURANGABAD & ELLORA VISIT

DAY 4 - AJANTA VISIT

  • Full day visit Ajanta Caves (110 km / 2 hrs 15 min one way, closed on Mondays) dating back to the 2nd century BC. The  26  rock  hewn  caves  are  adorned  with  Buddhist  sculpture  and  the frescoes  portray  in epic form the religious and secular life through 8 centuries

DAY 5 - AURANGABAD – MUMBAI – VARANASI (By Flight)

  • Late afternoon take a walk at the Ganges and the narrow lanes and by-lanes of town, for which the place is so famous. And eventually reach at the Ganges bank to see the Aarti & prayers (again quiet a divine experience)

DAY 6 - VARANASI VISIT

  • Get up early morning to do a boat trip during sunrise at the Ganges. You may also witness the reality of life – “death” – the dead bodies being burnt on pyre at Assi or Dashashwamedh Ghat (from a distance)
  • Way back to the hotel visit the famous Hindu temples (Vishwanath Mandir, Hanuman temple, etc) and the Banaras Hindu University – the biggest residential university in Asia. Late Breakfast at the hotel

DAY 7 - VARANASI - SARNATH

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning see Sarnath, famous Buddhist destination, Dhamekh stupa, Buddhist university, ruins & museum. Also take a walking tour in a typical garden village nearby and have tea with a local family
  • Rest of the day is free to relax. Explore town on own

DAY 8 - VARANASI – KHAJURAHO (By Flight)

  • Transfer to the Airport

  • ****   Arrive Khajuraho – “The City of Aesthetically Beautiiful Temples” and transfer to the hotel and relax. Evening witness Indian folk dance performance

DAY 9 - KHAJURAHO

  • Visit temples with wonderful carvings & aesthetics, especially the Western group

DAY 10 - KHAJURAHO – ORCHHA

  • Transfer by road to Orchha, a quaint small town located at Betwa river. Late afternoon visit the fort, cenotaphs and take a walk at the river side

DAY 11 - ORCHHA – GWALIOR

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer by road to Gwalior. On the way, visit the historical Jhansi Fort (from where the queen of Jhansi Lakshmi Bai had jumped down along with her horse and son tied on to him), who fought British in the earliest wars of freedom. You also have option of visiting Shivpuri on the way, famous for wildlife

DAY 12 - GWALIOR VISIT

  • Visit imposing Gwalior Fort, Tansen’s tomb, Saas Bahu Temple, etc

DAY 13 - GWALIOR – CHAMBAL

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer by road to Chambal, famous for river Chambal, a tributary of River Yamuna and also its badlands & ravines, that have hosted an untold number of dacoits
  • Afternoon do a river safari, starts by about 2 pm
  • Lunch, Dinner & Overnight at the hotel

DAY 14 - CHAMBAL

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning do a jeep safari to see sarus crane (about 2 hrs safari but total of 4 hrs)
  • Afternoon do a tour of Bateshwar Fair (depends on festive dates)
  • Or Bareh Tour: The spectacular drive through a wild, forbidding and undulating landscape cuts across the ravines of both rivers, going deep into one of the remotest and most untouched corners of the Indian heartland

DAY 15 - CHAMBAL – BHARATPUR (3 Hrs) – SAWAI MADHPOPUR / RANTHAMBORE

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer by road to Bharatpur. If time permits, see Dausa on the way. Lunch recommended at Laxmi Vilas Palace. Thence get dropped to the train station of Bharatpur (driver will bring the luggage by car, so you will have to wait for him until he arrives)

  • ****   Arrive Sawai Madhopur and Transfer by hotel jeep to Ranthambore, one of the best in India for tiger sighting

DAY 16 - RANTHAMBORE

  • Early morning take jeep safari to see tiger if possible and a variety of wildlife at the park

  • After Lunch around 3 pm, embark on yet another safari to discover variety of fauna in the park

DAY 17 - RANTHAMBORE – JAIPUR (180 km / 3 Hrs) – GOA (By Flight)

  • Early morning embark on yet another safari to see tiger if possible and a variety of wildlife at the park

DAY 18 - SOUTH GOA VISIT

Thence drive up the hill to visit famous Chandreshwar Bhutnath temple, further drive to see sleepy fishing village of Betul and thereafter Cabo da Rama fort built before Portuguese rule

DAY 19 - SOUTH GOA – NORTH GOA (Shift to other hotel)

  • Transfer to North Goa en route visit one of the Hindu temples (Shantadurga or Mangueshi). After plantation, if interested visit (if in stock) the cashew nut processing factory. Thence proceed to the spice plantation, with the most delicious organic lunch included. Here they grow almost all kind of spices except saffron and you would be explained the significance of each. Visit of Old Goa churches including Basilica of Bom Jesus, Fontainhas (Latin Quarters) in Panjim by feet, etc. Finally check in at the North Goa hotel

DAY 20 - GOA

DAY 23 - COCHIN – ALLEPPEY (Drive) – HOUSEBOAT

  • Transfer by road to Alleppey – “The Gateway to the Backwaters”

Knock at your creative faculties and wake up the poet or painter in you! Evening enjoy the beautiful sunset and then anchor at some convenient location for the night
