Day by Day Itinerary

DAY 1 - ARRIVE GOA – CURTORIM VILLAGE

  • ****   Arrive Goa – “The Pearl of East” & Transfer to a homestay at Curtorim village “the rice bowl of Goa”
  • Rest of the time relax and recover from jetlag, if any
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 2 - CURTORIM: BIRD WATCHING & CYCLING TRIP

  • Get up early morning for a bird watching trip (using bicycle and a local guide) at one of the famous Curtorim lakes
  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Later explore (cycling) the village, local tinto market, rice fields and famous sluice gate (to control water supply), mingle with locals, etc.
  • Second half cycle towards Macazana village and see its old traditional Indo-Portuguese style houses
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 3 - CURTORIM: CHANDOR & PARODA BY CYCLE

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Today pedal to further south of Goa to a historical village of Chandor (olden times capital of Goa, Chandrapur) w  here old excavations have also taken place and visit a centuries old Portuguese time home where people still live. Lunch at a local restaurant
  • Thence drive up the hill to visit famous Chandreshwar Bhutnath temple at Paroda village. It is one of the oldest temples of Goa, dedicated to Lord Shiva
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 4 - CURTORIM

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Today you are free to just take a ride on own exploring beautiful countryside
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 6 - CURTORIM

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Cycle today to visit Margao town,  famous for its covered market and also fish & vegetable market (about 10 km each way). Have lunch in some nice place and then carry on to see Goa Chitra & Goa Chakra museum at Benaulim. Once done, as you are close to the sea, pedal your way to most scenic Sernabatim beach and come back home at your choice of time

DAY 7 - CURTORIM – LOUTOLIM

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Cycle all the way to Loutolim village, situated in a hilly area with very thick vegetation and some small water springs here & there
  • En route visit Raia village with its historical Rachol Church & excellent garden, old water harvesting system, etc. From nearby take a ferry ride to cross the tributary of Zuari river and see Shivnath or Kamakshi temple
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 8 - EXPLORE WILD LOUTOLIM

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Today explore the wild woody Loutolim, here you may come across some wildlife like python, monkeys or some other wild animals (porcupine, mongoose, etc) and explore the Ambora spring. Also see the Museum of Figueiredo Mansion
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 9 - LOUTOLIM – PONDA TRIP

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Cycle to Cultural & Traditional town of Ponda (passing through small hills), wherein you will witness many temples and is famous for plantations
  • Coming back, see historical old Borim bridge and pass by other ship building units
  • Come back to Loutolim homestay
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 10 - LOUTOLIM – DIVAR ISLAND

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Drive till Chorao Jetty (with guide), cross the river with local ferry, start cycling and step into beautiful Divar Island surrounded by marshy rivulets / streams, mangroves, fields & old Portuguese time houses in narrow lanes
  • Finally take ferry to Old Goa jetty and visit Old Goa churches including Basilica of Bom Jesus. Thence cycle or drive to Fontainhas (Latin Quarters) in Panjim by feet, etc.
  • Drive back to Loutolim village
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 11 - LOUTOLIM

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Today you are totally on own and cycle to the place you want
  • Dinner & Overnight at the homestay

DAY 12 - LOUTOLIM – CABO DA RAMA

  • Breakfast at the homestay
  • Transfer by road to sleepy fishing village of Betul by car and start cycling from here – see the point where river Sal meets into the sea, mingle with locals around. Ride further up towards Canangunim and visit a coir factory run by local ladies
  • Evening enjoy sunset on the beach, almost like a small private one, out of the world view actually
  • Overnight at the hotel

DAY 13 - CABO DA RAMA – FISHING TRIP

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Do cycling on own to see famous Cabo Da Rama fort (existed before Portuguese came to Goa) and discover further down Agonda & Palolem beach
  • OPTIONAL: Half day fishing trip from Betul jetty, followed by lunch with freshly caught fish
  • Overnight at the hotel

DAY 14 - CABO DA RAMA – NUEM TRIP

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning cycle to visit the cute fishing village Nuem. Thence either come back cycling or trek back to Cabo Da Rama about 3 – 4 km. This coastal route has very lovely scenery (car will be needed to take the cycle back), or else hike less and come back to Nuem village
  • Overnight at the hotel

DAY 15 - CABO DA RAMA – GOKARNA

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer by road to Gokarna, a beautiful coastal village & town in Karnataka state. Stay at the beautiful accommodation next to Om beach
  • Lunch, Dinner & Overnight at the hotel

DAY 18 - GOKARNA – GOA – HOME COUNTRY

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Transfer by road to Dabolim airport of Goa
  •  Departure by flight
